Newly Renovated 2 BR Spanish Bungalow in San Mateo $3000

Open House Sunday December 1st from 1PM to 3:30PM. Stop By!

For Rent: 2 BR Bungalow in San Mateo. This is the first time this house has ever been a rental. We recently purchased this house, and have spent the last two months renovating it. I always hated a few small pictures of a house I wanted to rent, so I will try to provide as many pictures and as much description as I can.

This house was originally built in the 1930's, and is on one of the best streets in San Mateo. If you look at Google maps, you'll see that 25th Ave isn't a through street from Alameda de las Pulgas (you cannot turn left on to 25th from Alameda) so there is essentially NO through traffic. The neighborhood is excellent, and you are only a block and a half from the little downtown area of 25th (grocery, shopping, etc, as well as a farmers market!). You are about 3 blocks from El Camino, but the best part of the location is the easy commute either North (get right on 92 and you are almost to 280) or South (get right on 101 south). Plus, this location in San Mateo makes it an easy commute to San Francisco up 280, and you are close to Silicon Valley as well. VERY central spot.

You'll see in the first picture that this house has a Gorgeous front living room area. The Fireplace is functional, and the brand new beautiful panorama window and the Granite Fireplace surround really makes for a nice family space. The high, coffered ceilings are also one of those things they just never seem to include on newer homes.

This house (within the last two months) has gotten a brand new roof, ALL new electrical (we replaced nearly every wire in the house, and updated the electrical service to 200Amps), and completely new kitchen. We kept the original Cabinets (they really matched the feel of the house), but the kitchen has all brand new High End Stainless Appliances, a new, custom countertop, all new tile (Backsplash and Porcelain Tile on the floor), as well as a beautiful new stainless hood. The kitchen has a really open, airy feel, and an attached breakfast nook, also opens up onto the back yard with a newly installed Sliding Glass door.

This next picture shows the lovely new kitchen. Gas 5 burner Range, Brand new Stainless Fridge and Dishwasher, as well as a super deep Farm Sink, with a garbage disposal. You would be the first tenant to ever cook a Holiday meal in that oven.

In this next picture you can see the breakfast nook, and the lovely built ins. To the right of this picture is the sliding glass door opening on to the deck (which will be completed shortly).

This next shot shows the Dining room. The breakfast nook is behind that door on the right.

Here you can see the stairs leading up to the bedrooms. The entryway with its high ceilings really makes this house feel huge.

At the top of the stairs, you have the bathroom (A large, vintage tiled affair with a full tub and a separate shower!). This house actually has a second bathroom in the garage with a shower, but it is in sort of an extended "utlity" space where the Laundry hookups are. So though this is technically a 2 bathroom house, treat it more as a 1 bathroom with a backup in case. The bathroom in the attached garage area is not remodelled.

Here's the master, towards the rear of the house. You cannot see it in this picture, but the master has a nice, big closet.

Here's the second bedroom. This is the room above the garage as you look at the house from the street. This would also make an amazing office or guest bedroom.

This next picture shows the garage, which is a deep one car garage. There isn't enough room to fit two cars in tandem, but there's a nice area in the back for storage or for a work area. You can see the second bathroom/laundry area in the rear left of this picture. The garage floor is not perfectly level, and has cracks, but it has an automatic garage door opener, and lots of space. The driveway offers ample parking for two cars.

This next picture shows the back yard (the furniture does not come with the rental). You can see the covered patio area, which is great for entertaining.

This last shot shows the rear of the house and the back yard. The sliding glass door isn't installed in this picture, but there is one on the right hand side of the house in this picture, opening out towards the back yard. There will also be a deck coming into the back yard from that sliding glass door before the house is rented (but it isn't in this picture). The screen door in the lower left of the house goes in to the back of the garage.

Now for the details of the rental. Owner pays water and gardener, Tenant pays all the rest of the utilities. One year lease. Absolutely no Smoking or Drugs. Tenant must carry renter's insurance, and pets (cats and dogs) are Negotiable. Deposit is One month's rent, applicants subject to Credit Check.
